Trump exec shares branding expertise

Thursday, Jack Christie, vice president of sales and marketing for the Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas, spoke to a group of real estate and business professionals at The Brand Called You conference, which was held at the Red Rock Resort Casino, 1101 W. Charleston Blvd.

Christie, who has worked in Las Vegas luxury real estate for more than 10 years, oversees the development of Donald Trump's 64-story tower, which is nearly sold out less than a year after opening for sales. Approximately 95 percent of the tower's 1,282 units have been sold.

"We have seen better than average sales in Las Vegas," Christie said. "A large part of our success is due to the Trump brand and all that it implies. Our buyers know that a Trump development will be the best possible -- from the design and construction to the hotel operations and service."

During The Brand Called You conference, which is sponsored by Kennedy Advertising, First American Title Co. and Countrywide Home Loans, Christie discussed his thoughts on branding, examples of successful brands and how the Trump brand name has benefited his project.

Other companies discussing their strategies for success at the event were Tom Kaplan of Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, Rich Nelson of realtor.com, Jim Suth of the Ryness Companies and Richard Lee of First American Title Co.

The Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas is comprised of 1,282 hotel condominiums, with studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units and penthouse suites. Now, less than 5 percent of the apartments in the building are available for purchase.

Prices range from the $700,000s to $7 million. Buyers have five options when they purchase a unit. They can live in the unit full time or part time, rent it out themselves, rent it through Trump hotel operations or use an outside property management company to rent the unit.

On-site conveniences include 24-hour concierge, security services, professionally managed spa, fitness center and salon, a heated outdoor pool with a sundeck and bar, a business center with meeting facilities, a doorman and valet parking services.

The sales office is located at 3128 Las Vegas Blvd. South, on the northwest corner of the Las Vegas Strip and Fashion Show Lane.
