First-time buyers pick Cherry Lane

Darrel and Nicole Brown considered price, location and availability when looking for their first new home. They found everything they were looking for at Cherry Lane, a Richmond American Homes' neighborhood in the southeastern valley.

"The homes were affordable and the location is perfect for us," Nicole Brown said. "The fact that they were available was great as well."

After meeting a sales agent in their neighborhood, they visited the new subdivision and decided to purchase a home within a few days.

"(Our sales agent) explained everything to us and helped us choose the best possible options for our home," Darrel Brown said.

Four two-story plans are available.

The Browns purchased the 1,657-square-foot Ranier plan, which is priced from the $250,000s. The design features an open great room, dining room, three bedrooms, optional loft or fourth bedroom, and 2 1/2 baths. The master suite has a walk-in closet.

"The Ranier appealed to us because it has plenty of space," Darrel Brown said.

"I really liked the loft option," Nicole Brown added.

Other plans include the 1,327-square-foot Mahogany, which is priced from the $220,000s. It features three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a covered porch, kitchen with an island and dining nook, upstairs laundry room and optional loft.

Lambert is a 1,556-square-foot design with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, an island kitchen, great room and upstairs laundry room. Dual master suites and a loft in lieu of a bedroom are optional. The home is priced from the $240,000s.

The Lapin plan measures 1,803 square feet and offers four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Additionally, the home has a covered porch and great room with media niche. A second master suite and bonus room are optional. The design is priced from the $280,000s.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Tropicana Avenue, go east to Broadbent Boulevard and head south. Proceed to Cherry Street and turn south.

Richmond American offers more than 30 new-home subdivisions throughout the valley. Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Friday, when they open at noon.

The builder is a subsidiary of MDC Holdings. It also operates a mortgage division.
