When 25-year Southern Nevada residents Gary and Debbie Horky decided to buy a new home for their family of four, they looked at several new neighborhoods during a six-month period before finding the desired floor plan and location at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson. "Green Valley Ranch offered everything we were looking for in a home and community," Debbie Horky said. "We like the overall feel of this community, with all of the parks, trails and other opportunities for outdoor recreation ..." The Horkys chose a home at the Castle Rock Estates neighborhood by Richmond American Homes. "We like the all-single-story design of Castle Rock Estates, which gives everyone more backyard privacy," Debbie Horky said. "It is also a gated neighborhood, which results in less traffic and safer streets. "We chose the Windsor plan because it is a spacious home with a nice courtyard entry, spacious living areas and plenty of privacy for the entire family. There is good separation between the bedrooms and the family room and living areas, lots of cabinet and storage space, and a separate, interior laundry room, which is a major convenience." The community, developed by American Nevada Corp., is close to being sold out and offers homes priced from the $150,000s. Other neighborhoods open for sales are: Mystic Bay by Richmond American Homes; Meritage by Capital Pacific Homes; and Carriage Lane by U.S. Home. Community amenities include city and neighborhood parks, and a network of trails. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Green Valley Parkway, and head south into the community.
