Several free home-buying seminars will be held throughout October, courtesy of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service and the Nevada Fair Housing Center.

Sessions will be presented in English as well as Spanish.

Topics will include the benefits of homeownership, credit, saving for a down payment, obtaining a mortgage, the negotiation and closing processes, property disclosure, and homeowners associations.

An English version will be held Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2725 E. Desert Inn Road, Suite 180.

Another session in English will be held Oct. 19 and 26 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 3650 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 32. An additional class is scheduled for Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the same address.

The Spanish version will be presented Oct. 16 and 23 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Decatur Boulevard address.

All participants will receive a Certificate of Education upon completion of the course.
