Home buyers are invited to take advantage of the benefits of owning an energy-efficient home at Verona, a Pardee Homes neighborhood in Green Valley.

"Verona meets some of the highest standards of energy efficiency to merit the coveted Energy Star seal and the ComfortWise designation, endorsed by the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency and Southwest Gas Corporation," Ray Landry, assistant vice president of sales, said.

"Pardee Homes receives the benefits of energy-efficiency in the model homes at Verona. The power bills for heating and cooling the models are much lower than they are at other Pardee model homes of comparable size."

The homes have proved to be as much as 37 percent more energy-efficient than traditional homes, according to Landry. The benefits include a decrease in ultraviolet light through special glass windows that reduce fabric fade, cost savings in utilities, and cleaner homes due to installation of sealed ductwork.

The neighborhood is located on Pecos Road between Warm Springs Road and Windmill Parkway. Three floor plans are available, ranging from 1,414 to 2,400 square feet. Prices start from the mid-$150,000s.

"Verona is a charming collection of homes with aesthetically pleasing characteristics in addition to plenty of space," Landry said. "The 1,414-square-foot Plan One has an elegant rotunda entry that reveals a room in each direction."

Plan Two includes three upstairs bedrooms, two baths, and a media room or optional downstairs bedroom with bath.

With 2,400 square feet, Plan Three can be built with as many as five bedrooms and three baths or four bedrooms and an optional loft. Additional features include formal living and dining rooms, a combined kitchen and family room, and an upstairs laundry room.

The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.

The builder's Renaissance, Presidio, Crescendo and Riviera neighborhoods in Seven Hills also feature the Energy Star seal and ComfortWise designation.
