Reservations accepted for first residences at Intrawest's MonteLago Village

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas Resort is taking reservations for a limited number of resort condominiums called Viera, the village's first residential offering.

Furnished studios to three-bedroom residences are available, priced from the mid-$200,000s. The homes will offer views of the village, a 320-acre lake and the hillsides of Lake Las Vegas Resort.

"Intrawest (the developer) is very excited about the first homes being offered at MonteLago Village," said Sherri O'Boyle, director of sales and marketing. "Viera, the centerpiece of the village's residential resort experience, is so unique to the valley that we are encouraging people who want to be a part of MonteLago Village to visit or call now so they don't miss an opportunity to be a part of this lakeside village community."

Set to open in winter 2002, MonteLago Village will be comprised of shops, lakeside cafes and bistros, art galleries and a pedestrian-only experience. A 350-room Ritz Carlton hotel will also be built, as will a world-class spa and European-style casino.

"The village will embrace the architectural flavors of Old World Tuscany and Lake Como," O'Boyle said.

"Visitors will stroll down narrow, cobblestone lanes oriented toward views of the lake and lined with intimate shops and boutiques.

"Waterside cafes and bistros will feature views of mountains and water, white-sand beaches and a mile of lakeside walkways.

"The boutiques and shops will be one of a kind," she said. "(Boutique) owners ... will make or select, from around the world, items of impeccable quality, distinctive style and incredible beauty."

The dozens of shops will be complemented by a stone bridge offering carts and kiosks. Hotel suites will be located above the shops.

Merchants will soon be selected for the 65,000 square feet of commercial space in the first phase, according to O'Boyle.

Lake Las Vegas Resort is a $5 billion development in Henderson offering luxury neighborhoods, championship golf and opportunities for water sports that include sailing, kayaking, rowing and sport fishing.

To visit the site, take Interstate 515 to Lake Mead Drive then head east to Lake Las Vegas Parkway. Or, take Interstate 215 to Lake Las Vegas Parkway.
