First model opens at AberdeenSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
US Home has completed construction of the first model home at Aberdeen, a gated neighborhood in the Southern Highlands community. The single-story Brentwood, one of six floor plans available, can be built to measure 2,550 or 3,070 square feet with two to five bedrooms. Sales executive Vicki Zoot said completion of the model came "none too soon." "Our sales at Aberdeen have been over-the-top during presales, and the model-home construction kept taking a back seat to on-site construction for our buyers," Zoot said. "Aberdeen is selling way ahead of projections, and this southwest community is already in phase two as we scramble to complete the model homes." Interior highlights include formal living and dining rooms, a kitchen with a bar counter, and a master bedroom that occupies a separate wing of the home. In the expanded version, the master bedroom can accommodate an office, exercise area, sitting room or retreat. Secondary bedrooms share a separate wing. Outside, a covered porch extends from the master bedroom to the family room. The family room offers a traditional fireplace or a two-sided fireplace open to the living room. Upgrades include marble surfaces; indirect lighting; and stone, rock or brick accents on the interior, as well as the exterior. "There are so many customizing options that truly no two homes are ever exactly alike, and that is part of the appeal of US Home," Zoot said. The neighborhood also showcases the Coronado, the builder's newest floor plan. The model is expected to open next month. "This is a home with pow and pizzazz," Mike DeSilva, Las Vegas division president, said. "This is a dramatic and captivating home that is highlighted by a number of exciting new design elements for US Home." The two-story Coronado measures 4,402 square feet, and can be built with three to five bedrooms, four baths and a three-car garage. Highlights include a courtyard entry, turret-style foyer, and kitchen with bay windows. Standard features in all of the homes include ceramic-tile entry flooring, pot shelves and media niches. Kitchens feature granite counter tops, upgraded cabinetry and appliances, pot-and-pan cabinet drawers, and gas cook tops. All exteriors include decorative carriage lights and windows with stucco accents. Aberdeen's lineup also includes the single-story La Jolla plan, which measures 2,873 square feet and is expandable to 3,000 square feet. Three two-story designs are also available, including the Beverly Hills plan that can be built to measure 3,800 square feet with as many as seven bedrooms. Homes in the neighborhood range from 2,500 to 4,500 square feet, and each is available in an expanded version. Homes are priced from the $280,000s. To visit, take Interstate 15 to Blue Diamond Road, exit west to Decatur Boulevard, go south to Somerset Hills and head west. The sales office is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
