Sales brisk at Southern Highlands property

Kimball Hill Homes has reported strong sales at The Heathers, a neighborhood within The Villages at Southern Highlands.

According to division President Lee Venable, 120 of its 176 homes have either been sold or are in escrow at the southwestern valley neighborhood.

The gated neighborhood features six models and floor plans that range from 1,453 to 2,242 square feet.

Prices start from $165,000 to $203,000.

"We were delighted to see such great demand and interest in The Heathers," Venable said. "Southern Highlands provides an impressive environment for exclusive residential enclaves, and based on our success at The Heathers, we are getting ready to unveil another truly spectacular neighborhood this December -- Caparola."

This new neighborhood will feature 177 two-story homes priced from the $170,000s. Four models, ranging from 1,734 to 2,400 square feet, will offer three or four bedrooms, and flex space which can be used as an office or entertainment area.

"With both unique interior and exterior design, Caparola will bring a great, quality living environment to The Villages," Venable said. "It'll be an `old-style, walk-down-the-street-neighborhood,' offering comfort and security to all residents."

Instead of the standard rectangular lots, each home will be constructed on Z-lots, allowing for half of the homes to be built with rear garages and the other half with front garages.

"When driving down the street, Caparola homeowners will get the same feeling of what older homes brought to a neighborhood with the classic rocking-chair porches, making for a neighborhood-friendly community," Venable said.

The homes will be reminiscent of Colonial style with art niches, ivory interior paint, woodwork stained in white enamel, and raised-panel doors. They also will include rounded drywall corners and lever door handles.

More than 20 neighborhoods are open for sales in The Villages, with homes priced from the $130,000s to the $400,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 15 south to the Henderson/Lake Mead exit, go west and follow the signs north.

Sales offices and model homes are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
