Sagewood homes earn Energy Star label

Energy-efficiency packages are standard at Pardee Homes' Sagewood neighborhood in Rancho Las Palmas in the southeastern valley, according to Ray Landry, assistant vice president of sales.

"As prices for energy are on the rise, families appreciate the built-in cost savings that are part of Pardee's Energy Star package," Landry said.

Windows, heating and cooling systems, and air ducts have been designed to exceed the Environmental Protection Agency's energy-efficiency standards by at least 30 percent. The homes also have earned the ComfortWise designation for their efficiency.

Priced from $168,450 to $210,750, five floor plans offering as many as five bedrooms, three baths and three-car garages are available.

The single-story Plan One features three bedrooms, two baths, an island kitchen with dining area and two-car garage. The 1,383-square-foot home is priced from $168,450.

The single-story Plan Two offers as many as four bedrooms, two baths, breakfast bar in the kitchen, and optional den. At 1,718 square feet, it is priced from $183,950.

Ranging from 2,046 to 2,442 square feet, the two-story Plan Three features four bedrooms, three baths, a second-floor laundry room, bonus room, and two- or three-car garage. Prices range from $195,200 to $208,200.

The two-story Plan Four measures 2,296 square feet. It offers three bedrooms, a den and loft, or as many as five bedrooms; 2 3/4 baths; and three-car garage. It is priced from $205,750.

Plan Five offers an upstairs laundry room and linen closet, three bedrooms, a den, 2 1/2 baths and bonus room. Options include a downstairs guest room and third bath. The 2,557-square-foot home is priced from $210,750.

With the exception of Plan Two, island kitchens are standard. Other features include ceramic-tile counter tops, oak cabinetry, pantries, and appliance packages.

Homes feature volume ceilings, ceramic-tile or parquet flooring at entry, six-panel interior doors, and cultured-marble counter tops in baths.

Master suite retreats offer walk-in closets, dual vanities, enclosed toilets, and tubs. Plans Four and Five offer separate tubs and showers.

The community includes an elementary school and 8-acre park featuring ball fields; basketball, volleyball and tennis courts; jogging trails; and covered picnic areas.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Windmill Lane and go west. Turn left at Bermuda Road and follow the signs. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
