Couple buy D.R. Horton home in Aliante

When Christopher and Anita DeGhelder were ready to move up to a larger home, they considered many new homes and neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley. Eventually, they visited the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas.

The couple purchased a home in D.R. Horton's Manor at Aliante, a neighborhood of single-story homes measuring from 1,950 to 2,350 square feet. Prices start from the $250,000s to the $280,000s.

"We love the all-single-story design of the Manor, and the home we chose is perfect for us," said Christopher DeGhelder, a registered nurse. "It has a very spacious and open design and it is located on a large home site that will easily accommodate a swimming pool.

"We enjoy outdoor activities including golf, bike riding and walking our dogs," he said. "Aliante offers limitless opportunities for recreation including the golf course, the walking trails, the parks and all of the associated facilities."

Aliante is a 1,905-acre development of North Valley Enterprises and is comprised of two villages. Homes in the primary village are priced from the $130,000s to the $370,000s and are being built by D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Del Webb is constructing Sun City Aliante, an age-qualified village of single-story homes priced from the $170,000s to the $260,000s.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go south to the primary village or north to Sun City. An information center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
