Family of four finds Aliante fits desires

Grant and Ellen Jenkins searched for a home for their family of four, and found the proper combination of features at the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas.

"During our search, we heard about Aliante through word-of-mouth and we were sure to include it on the list of communities we visited," Ellen Jenkins said. "When we arrived and saw the golf course, the parks and all the greenbelts and walking trails, we both fell in love with it."

The community's design proved essential to their decision.

"Having parks and other recreational facilities so close to home is a great advantage for a family like ours," Grant Jenkins said. "We particularly enjoy Nature Discovery Park. In fact, we come here all the time and we haven't even moved into our new home yet."

They chose the Lombardo design at KB Home's San Destin Palazzo neighborhood. The 3,083-square-foot, two-story home features four bedrooms, a game room, den, 2 1/2 baths and a three-car garage. The home can include as many five bedrooms and four baths.

"We love the spacious and open living areas in the Lombardo design," Ellen Jenkins said. "It has a beautiful circular staircase, lots of bedrooms, plenty of windows and many other attractive features. It's just what we were looking for, a home that will be comfortable for us now, and for many years to come."

The Jenkins look forward to moving into their new home later this year.

Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb. Encompassing more than 1,900 acres, the community consists of an all-ages village and an age-qualified village, Sun City Aliante. Combined, they will comprise 7,500 homes at buildout.

Home prices start from the $170,000s to the $700,000s.

Additional builders include: Astoria Homes, Del Webb, D.R. Horton, Lennar, Meritage Homes, Pardee Homes, Pulte Homes and US Home.

About one-fourth of the community's acreage is designated for recreational and public purposes including the Aliante Golf Club, Nature Discovery Park, two city parks, more than 20 miles of trails and linear parks, as well as an arroyo. Other plans include elementary schools and a middle school.

About 100 acres are allocated for commercial development, including a planned 40-acre resort with gaming.

An information center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit, then go south.
