Christopher Collection design appeals to pair

Ike and Sarah Prinsloo found their ideal home and lifestyle at The Christopher Collection, a luxury-home neighborhood being built by Christopher Homes in the guard-gated Southern Highlands Golf Club in the southwestern valley.

"We looked at many new neighborhoods, primarily in Southern Highlands and other areas of the southwest valley," Sarah Prinsloo said. "When we saw the Spa at Southern Highlands, the golf course and all of the beautiful surroundings, we knew we would love to own a home in this community. Then, we found the Gauguin design at The Christopher Collection and knew that our search was over. It was exactly what we were looking for."

The 1,983-square-foot, single-story home has two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a front interior courtyard and covered rear patio. The Prinsloos opted to add a third bedroom, which increased the size of their home to 2,163 square feet.

"The Gauguin with the optional third bedroom was perfect for us. We like the private courtyard entry, the spacious kitchen, the large dining room and the adjacent great room. The master suite is well-separated from the secondary bedrooms and the second and third bedrooms overlook the interior courtyard," Ike Prinsloo said.

The couple also praised the builder's staff.

"From our sales consultants to the professionals from the design center, everyone we worked with was very friendly, knowledgeable and responsive to our questions and requests," Sarah Prinsloo said.

The neighborhood, along with the builder's The Villas neighborhood, is in the final closeout stage. Nine homes ranging from 3,155 to more than 6,000 square feet and priced from about $1 million to $2 million are available. Many are located along the fairways of the golf course and offer views of the fairways and surrounding mountains. Homes can be available for move-in in March 2005.

All buyers receive a consultation with the builder's in-house design center.

Additionally, buyers will receive a social membership to Southern Highlands Golf Club, upon application approval.

The golf club features a private golf course and is complemented by a 42,000-square-foot clubhouse with formal and informal dining, a golf library, wine room, locker rooms and pro shop.

The 13,000-square-foot spa features private treatment rooms, lounge areas with private steam rooms, vitality pools, a fitness center, group exercise and yoga studio, private training studios, lighted tennis courts, a swimming pool, cabanas, an outdoor spa, manicure and pedicure stations, and children's pool and play area.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the Henderson/Lake Mead exit, head west and follow the signs. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
