MILESTONE: Sun City Aliante reaches 1,000 homeownersSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Sun City Aliante "has got it all," according to resident Mender Granger Stewart. The realty agent became the 1,000th buyer when she purchased her new home at the age-qualified community in North Las Vegas. Developer Del Webb presented her with flowers, a bottle of wine and a gift certificate to a home improvement store. Impressed by the developer's reputation for building a quality home, Stewart said she was drawn to the community's golf course ambiance and mountain backdrop. It is built around the 18-hole Aliante Golf Club, a public facility. "I've never met one person who's had anything negative to say about Del Webb's product or service," said Stewart, a Realtor since 1989. Moving to Las Vegas from Laguna Beach, Calif., in 1996, Stewart said her lifestyle is well-suited to the community. With four adult children, Stewart looks forward to reading and starting golf lessons. Located within the Aliante master-planned community, the all-single-story development offers seven floor plans ranging from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet. Prices start from the mid-$310,000s to the mid-$450,000s. Stewart selected the 1,716-square-foot Cedar model, because of its openness. The floor plan features three bedrooms, two baths, a great room, dining room, nook, covered patio and two-car garage. "The kitchen is located off to the side and isn't visible from the main entrance, which I like," she said. "The Cedar model suits my lifestyle." The homes include most appliances; oak cabinets; a structured wiring panel with category 5 wiring; recessed can lights in the kitchen, nook, entry and baths; flat-tile roofing; a choice of exterior paint schemes; and front- and backyard desert landscaping. Each home also includes Environments For Living building technology with features such as low-e windows and blown-in cellulose insulation. Recognized as Energy Star homes, certifying they are at least 30 percent more energy efficient than standard homes, they offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use and comfort guarantee. Tennis and bocce courts are open at the community, while a recreation center with a swimming pool, fitness center, and club and hobby rooms, is under construction and scheduled to open in late spring 2005. With about 400 acres dedicated to recreational and public use, Aliante offers amenities such as trails, the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park, plus two additional planned parks, and an arroyo. Retail stores and a medical center are also planned. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit, then go north to the model village. The sales office and models are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Del Webb is a subsidiary of Pulte Homes Inc., one of the nation's largest home builders.
