Investors, seniors come to Villas' opening weekend

The Villas, a townhome development by Rhodes Homes, celebrated its grand opening last weekend. The early returns: another huge success in the southwestern valley, according to company president Jim Rhodes.

Single-story homes ranging from 1,300 to 1,600 square feet are offered. The gated development will feature a cabana, heated swimming pool, spa, lap pool and barbecue pit.

"Last weekend was huge and I expect this weekend will see brisk activity," Rhodes said. "The southwest Las Vegas Valley is the new hot spot in Southern Nevada real estate."

Rhodes said investors and seniors comprised much of the first weekend's traffic.

"The twin-home concept is a great way for people looking for an investment, as well as a great place to live," he said. "The maintenance-free community is popular for people who would rather leave the task of maintaining a great community to the professionals. We believe this community affords home buyers the best of both worlds: the ability to increase their home equity at a rapid pace while enjoying the lifestyle of a gorgeous new community."

Buyers will enjoy views of the Spring Mountains from their back yards.

Prices start in the mid-$100,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to Interstate 215, go west to the Durango Drive exit and head south to Warm Springs Road. The townhomes are located to the northwest of the Rhodes Ranch golf course.
