Party planned to celebrate Siena

Twenty home sales were recorded during the first week of September at Siena, an age-qualified community in southwestern Summerlin, according to Paul Smith, senior vice president and project manager.

"Typically, it is common to experience a sales slowdown over the summer, but that definitely hasn't been the case at Siena," Smith said. "Buyers continue to discover the wonderful community that is coming to fruition here, not the mention the great value offered in the homes, which start from the $170,000s."

In celebration, a reggae and pool party will be held next Saturday for Siena's more than 700 residents.

"These first residents were the trailblazers who helped make Siena the success it is today," Smith said. "And, they are our best source of referral, as they encourage others to live in this great community and enjoy the Siena lifestyle."

Buyers can choose from five Italian-themed collections of homes and 14 single-story floor plans that measure from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet. Prices range from the $170,000s to the $600,000s.

Each plan offers three exterior designs and a range of customizing options, including courtyard fireplaces and casitas with separate entrances. Professional interior designers are on-site to assist buyers.

Community amenities include a 15,900-square-foot fitness center featuring an indoor swim pavilion with a 25-meter pool, a spa, and two-story windows that overlook the community's 18-hole golf course, outdoor pool and spa, and tennis and bocce courts. Also included are cardiovascular, weight and exercise rooms as well as saunas, steam rooms and a wellness center. A full-service beauty salon and day spa is also open.

The 13,500-square-foot golf clubhouse is under construction and scheduled to open in late spring or early summer 2002 with a pro shop, locker rooms and casual dining.

A social center houses a computer lab, billiards and card rooms, and hosts a variety of classes ranging from ballroom dancing to watercolor painting. There is also a full-time activities manager.

The par-72 golf course is open on a daily-fee basis to golfers all ages, however, Siena residents are given special rates and preferred tee times. One-third of the planned 1,900 homes will align the course, which incorporates the terrain of the Spring Mountain foothills into its design.

Security officers patrol the guard-gated community on a 24-hour basis.

To visit the community, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 west to Town Center Drive and turn left. Proceed to Siena Monte Avenue then turn left and follow the signs to the sales complex.

The sales office and model homes are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin.
