`First family' impressed by Fiesta's locale

Peggy and Neil Rosen were the first to get their name on the waiting list and the first to buy a home at Pardee Homes' Fiesta neighborhood, located on Allen Lane between Craig Road and Ann Road in North Las Vegas.

"We love this part of the valley with the mountains so close," said Neil Rosen, a Strip hotel limousine driver.

The parents of two young boys are also pleased about the neighborhood's proximity to the 10-acre Goynes Park.

When it opens in January, the municipal Silver Mesa Recreation Center, a 41,000-square-foot facility with a swimming pool and classrooms, will be two miles from the neighborhood. Three public golf courses and a new library satellite branch are also in the area.

The neighborhood will consist of 138 single-story homes priced from the $130,000s.

Four floor plans are available, ranging from 1,383 to 2,315 square feet, with as many as four bedrooms, three baths and a three-car garage.

The Rosens chose Plan Four, which has about 2,315 square feet.

"We loved its open floor plan and the high ceilings, but I have to say it was the ... kitchen that sold me," Peggy Rosen said. "This is a home where our family can grow."

To visit, take Craig Road to Allen Lane, which is west of Camino al Norte, and go north about a mile, following the signs.

The models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.

Pardee Homes has built homes for more than 25,000 families in Southern Nevada since 1952.

Other Las Vegas Valley developments are Rancho Las Palmas in the southeastern valley, Eldorado in North Las Vegas, Nevada Trails in the southwestern valley, and the Renaissance and Crescendo neighborhoods at Seven Hills in Henderson.
