Green Valley hosts autumn family event

Southern Nevadans are invited to a day of fall-themed family fun Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harvest Fest at Pebble MarketPlace. The shopping center is located in Green Valley at 1000 N. Green Valley Parkway, just north of Interstate 215.

Among the entertainment and activities planned are music, dancing, games, prizes and giveaways, an Octoberfest trio, bluegrass trio, scarecrow mimes, and a presentation of Jack and the Beanstalk by Nevada Theatre Co. Other activities will include a fall crafts booth, pumpkin carver, portrait artist, children's activities, face painting, children's fingerprinting, a jump house and concessions.

There is also a scarecrow contest among the shops. Attendees are encouraged to tour the scarecrow displays at the shops and businesses, then vote for their favorite.

The festival is sponsored by Green Valley developer American Nevada Corp.
