Builders host IRC forum

The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association will present "The IRC: New Code Coming to a Jurisdiction Near You" on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Palace Station Hotel.

All residential construction professionals are invited to attend the forum from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

The discussion will examine the International Residential Code, including local jurisdictions' plans for its adoption and implementation, as well as how the code relates to housing construction in Southern Nevada.

Scheduled speakers include local building officials Mike Bouse of the city of Henderson, Ron Lynn of Clark County, Phil Coggins of the city of North Las Vegas, and Paul Donohue of the city of Boulder City. Eric Borsting, chairman of the association's codes committee, will be the moderator.

The cost is $25 for association members and $35 for nonmembers.
