Solera at Anthem owners fill first year with group activities

Solera at Anthem, an age-qualified community by Del Webb in Henderson, marked the one-year anniversary of its first residents during August.

"In just one year's time, the residents have accomplished so much," said Karla Pearson-Call, community association manager. "The pioneers of this community have built a solid foundation for social, fitness and intellectual activities. As we continue to grow, new residents will only benefit from the groundwork that's already been established."

During the year, the community's 400 homeowners have participated in more than 100 events such as potlucks, day trips, seminars and hikes. In addition, more than a dozen special interest clubs were formed including those devoted to bocce, mah-jongg, poker, books, needlework, tennis and bridge. A lending library recently opened.

A newsletter began monthly publication, and committee members reviewed 395 architectural applications and completed 210 inspections.

Residents also are using the community's tennis and bocce courts. The Revere at Anthem Golf Club features two championship courses.

Ground is expected to be broken in the fall for a recreation center. It will include a fitness center, swimming pool, billiard tables, and rooms for clubs, hobbies, computers and crafts.

The 385-acre community will have about 1,750 homes upon buildout.

Homes are now available in Solera South, a collection of neighborhoods south of the planned recreation center.

"The time is now to take advantage of this great opportunity. ... In an effort to respond to our home buyers' requests, we've upgraded our already high standard of included features offering buyers great comfort and value," senior sales manager R. Wayne Wermuth said.

Five single-story designs range from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet. They are priced from the low $300,000s to the mid-$410,000s.

Included features are two-tone paint, ceramic-tile flooring, ceiling fans, Corian kitchen counter tops, most appliances, upgraded wiring and covered patios.

All homes merit the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label and offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use and comfort guarantee.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to Anthem Parkway, turn left and proceed to Somersworth Drive. The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Del Webb is a subsidiary of Pulte Homes Inc. It is a leading builder of age-qualified communities and also offers Sun City Anthem in Henderson and Sun City Aliante in North Las Vegas. In addition, the builder offers the all-ages Club Aliante in North Las Vegas.
