Pulte, Del Webb start `Operation' to benefit military units, families

In keeping with the company's family-oriented nature, employees of Pulte Homes and Del Webb Corp. are looking after the needs of relatives and friends serving in the military in Iraq.

"A small group of employees started talking about how many of us had a friend or relative in the military serving in Iraq, and before we knew it, we had identified numerous ways to help the troops, friends and families and Operation Pulte Families was born," Pulte's marketing coordinator Renee LaRose said. "With 55 volunteers for the cause, each employee will be submitting the name of a friend or family member with their most needed items."

Shipments of nonperishable foods, socks, phone cards, books, magazines, and more are alternated to different units in Iraq.

Additionally, the group formed a home repair committee to complete "honey dos" for wives at home, and hosted an event for employees and their families to get support.

Plans also including assisting Nellis Air Force Base with its "Welcome Home" baskets.

"Pulte Homes is such a family-oriented company; its employees are constantly helping each other and giving back to the community," LaRose said.

Pulte offers a variety of one- and two-story homes and townhomes ranging from 850 to 3,816 square feet throughout the valley. New homes are available in more than 20 subdivisions including Silverstone Ranch and Wyeth Ranch in the northwest; Westchester Hills in the southwest; Serenata, Treviso, Pavona, Salerno and Terrasini in Aliante; Miramonte, Escala, Palomar and Cordova in Summerlin; Amber Ridge at Mission Hills and Anthem Highlands in Henderson. Sales offices are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at noon.

Del Webb offers three age-qualified communities: Sun City Anthem, Solera at Anthem, both in Henderson, and Sun City Aliante in North Las Vegas. It also offers the all-ages, resort-style Club Aliante in North Las Vegas. Sun City Anthem's sales office is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the others are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
