To mark the September opening of its homes at Southern Highlands, Richmond American Homes' Terraza at Southern Highlands will host a grand opening event Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Festivities will include refreshments, family fun and a chance to win an Apple iPod.
Set within the master plan of Southern Highlands, the neighborhood offers three floor plans: the Willow, the Maple and the split-level Cottonwood.

The Willow is a two-story, 2,055-square-foot home, with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage. The plan opens with a circular entry on the first floor, a formal dining room, family room and kitchen with nook. The second floor includes a tech center, loft and two bedrooms, along with a master suite. The master bedroom includes a master bath with walk-in closets, and a separate wash closet and dual vanity.
The two-story, 1,745-square-foot Maple floor plan offers three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage.
The home features a kitchen with a center island that opens into the family and dining room. The stairs leading to the second floor living areas are at the back of the home. The second floor has a spacious loft which separates the master suite from the secondary bedrooms and laundry room.
The Cottonwood offers a two-story, 1,659-square-foot home with four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage.
The first floor includes three bedrooms and a study. The family room overlooks the study from the second level where the kitchen, dining room and master suite are also located. The master suite contains a balcony, a master bath with dual vanity, a separate shower and a garden soaking tub.
