Family attracted to lifestyle at Aliante
When Shaun and Joy Mahoney began their search for a larger home, the six-year Southern Nevada residents were familiar with the territory and had a clear idea of what they wanted. Upon spending several months looking at about 20 neighborhoods throughout the valley, they chose the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. "We definitely wanted to live in a master-planned community because of all the obvious benefits for a family like ours," Shaun Mahoney said. "We felt that Aliante was a superior community in many ways, including all of the family-oriented amenities and conveniences. We drove in, took a close look at the plans and really liked what we saw here. It's a great place to raise kids with schools, parks and many other recreational facilities included in the master plan. ... It is also a new community and we were excited to get in on the ground floor." The Mahoneys selected a 3,300-square-foot, single-story design at D.R. Horton's Estates neighborhood. "Our previous home was also built by D.R. Horton and we were very pleased with the craftsmanship and customer service," Mahoney said. "We were pleased to see that they were among the builders here at Aliante and that they had the perfect floor plan for us. It's a home with lots of space for an expanding family, plus it has a private guest suite, which will be perfect for when our relatives come for extended visits from New Zealand. "We're pleased with our decision to buy a home at Aliante. It's going to be a wonderful place for us to live and grow as a family." The 1,905-acre community is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. It consists of a primary village and an age-qualified village, which will collectively have about 20,000 residents. Builders in the primary village are D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. The homes measure from 1,141 to 3,990 square feet and are priced from the $130,000s to the $370,000s. In the age-qualified village, Del Webb is building Sun City Aliante. The single-story designs range from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and are priced from the $170,000s to the $250,000s. About 428 acres have been designated for recreational and public purposes, including an 18-hole, par-72 municipal golf course; three city parks; more than 20 miles of lit concrete trails and linear parks; and an arroyo. Land has been set aside for two elementary schools, a middle school and fire station. About 100 acres have been allocated for commercial development and a gaming hotel. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go south to the sales center or north to Sun City. The information gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
