Sun City Aliante `sold itself' to home buyer

Doug MacQuown recently purchased a new home in Sun City Aliante, where he looks forward to meeting and socializing with his fellow neighbors. MacQuown will move into his new home this month.

"I am definitely interested in participating with Sun City Aliante's social clubs and using the fitness areas," he said. "I've also been wanting to learn more about computers and different languages. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity to do both.

"Plus, the great community activities like jazz concerts, ice cream socials and pet adoptions help bring the people in the community closer together."

MacQuown, who is in the real estate business, believes the age-qualified community is ideal for both living and investing.

"Not only have I purchased a home for myself there, but I've also purchased two others as investment properties. The value of Sun City Aliante's homes are already going up, and I think they'll continue the trend for quite some time. The community truly sells itself."

MacQuown purchased the Heather floor plan, which measures 1,155 square feet and has two bedrooms, two baths and a great room.

"It is the perfect size home for me, and the covered rear patio was especially appealing," he said.

Sun City Aliante is the adult component of the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. It is being developed around an 18-hole, 6,900-yard, par-72 municipal golf course. Planned amenities include a recreation center with tennis and bocce courts, a swimming pool, fitness center, and club and hobby rooms.

Homes are priced from the low $170,000s to the high $250,000s.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go north. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
