Community center, plaza break ground in Henderson



-- The city of Henderson broke ground on a 84,000-square-foot community center and aquatic complex and the 40,000-square-foot Henderson Promenade and Special Events Plaza at the corner of Green Valley and Paseo Verde parkways on Aug. 28. Plans for the center and aquatic complex include a 12,000-square-foot gymnasium, elevated jogging track, computer lab, demonstration kitchen, gift shop, climbing wall, fitness and aerobics rooms, child care, a lounge, game room, pools and a spa, and several meeting rooms. The plaza will host a variety of concerts and theatrical performances. Clark & Sullivan Constructors Inc., a Nevada-based company, was awarded the $24 million contract. The plaza is scheduled for completion in September 2002; the community center and aquatic complex is set for a November 2002 opening.

-- GVA Industrial Property Group's Dean Willmore represented Nevada Linen Supply in its sale of an 8,000-square-foot office/warehouse building at 6240 Stevenson Way to Designer's Decor for $570,000.

-- Lee and Associates' Mel Koich and Scott Owens represented both parties in Las Vegas Industrial Park's 78-month lease of 5,066 square feet at 6947 Speedway Blvd. to Carl Brinson for $202,399. Koich and Owens again represented both parties in the Las Vegas Industrial Park's five-year lease of 5,067 square feet at 6865 Speedway Blvd. to Nevada Nostalgia for $114,120.

-- David Abraham represented Robinson Trust in its sale of 2,934 square feet at 3000 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 5, to Heidi Vasas, represented by Gina Silvagni Perry of the Heritage Realty Co., for $250,000.

-- Mark and Albert Lefkowitz of Century 21 MoneyWorld represented Holly Mercy and Melissa Kalodner in their five-year lease of 805 square feet at 204 S. Cimarron Road, Suite 110, from Cimarron Professional Plaza, represented by Allan Swartz of James Allan and Co., for $69,236.

-- Colliers International's Scott Gragson, John Kilpatrick and Robert Torres represented Russell Beltway in the purchase of 2.5 acres at the northeast corner of Warm Springs Road and Duneville Street from Loewy Trust for $586,500. Gragson, Kilpatrick and Torres also represented Russell Beltway in the purchase of 15 acres at the southeast corner of Fort Apache Road and Diablo Avenue from C.H. Mouton for $3.6 million. Tom Stilley, Lizz Schafer and Jayne Cayton represented The Howard Hughes Corp. in its five-year lease of 10,008 square feet at 3993 Howard Hughes Parkway to Wilmington Trust for $1.4 million. Michael DeLew, Spencer Pinter and Greg Pancirov represented Spencer Helm in the five-year lease of 10,920 square feet at 1660 Helm Drive, Suite 100, to L.A.S. Freight for $415,836. Pinter, Dan Doherty and Brian Pankratz represented Roberts Ranch Venture in its two-year lease of 10,000 square feet at 1201 American Pacific Drive, suites E and F, in Henderson to RC Willey Home Furnishing for $122,400.
