COLUMN: Construction company cops safety award



-- Clark & Sullivan Constructors received an award from the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors for "Best Safety Record, Building Division." The company received the honor for performing more than 200,000 hours of labor with no "lost time" accidents.

-- Milgard Windows broke ground on a 149,000-square-foot facility in Henderson. The project, scheduled for completion in 2003, will comprise 109,000 square feet of manufacturing space, coupled with a 15,000-square-foot mezzanine and a 25,000-square-foot office complex. Situated on 10.72 acres, the building will be located near Warm Springs and Gibson roads. Construction costs are estimated at $8 million.

-- Southwest Engineering has been awarded the engineering contract for a 12.5-acre project located at Bradley Road and Deer Springs Way to be developed by D.R. Horton Homes. Engineering costs are estimated in the amount of $100,503.

-- Alberto Jauregui of Nevada Land represented Fiesta Homes in the purchase of two properties just south of the southeast corner of Commerce Street and Lone Mountain Road: 8.79 acres from Rayford and Fannie Turner for $509,892, and an acre from The Douglas R. Pike Family Trust for $58,000.

-- Kellye Ray of Harsch Investment Properties represented the company in its three-year lease of 1,901 square feet at Eastern Commerce Center, 6000 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 6C, to His Custom Flooring for $64,303. In another transaction, Margie Campobasso represented Harsch in its three-year lease of 1,396 square feet at Spectrum of Las Vegas, 3230 Sunrise Ave., Suite 104, to Lyn Dee's Deli for $72,587. Shamile Brison represented Harsch in its five-year lease of 3,000 square feet at 3095 S. Valley View Blvd. to Nevatex for $132,291. Brison again represented Harsch in its three-year lease of 3,000 square feet at 3079 S. Valley View Blvd. to Sin City Fashions & Nails for $78,927.

-- Lee and Associates' Scott Owens represented LV Grier in its purchase of 8,320 square feet at 1100 E. Grier Drive from Stantec Consulting, represented by Stephen Spelman and Michael Hansell, for $930,000. In another transaction, Charles Witters represented I.M.T. in its 60-month lease of 2,260 square feet at 2940 S. Jones Blvd. to United Title of Nevada, represented by Hans Miller of Orion Realty Group, for $237,300.

-- Hendricks & Partners' Carl Sims and Brian Anderson represented both parties in Sandy Lake Apartments' sale of a 144-unit development at 3650 E. Lake Mead Blvd. to Segundo and Illuminada Cacao for $5.3 million.

-- Kelly Peercy of Centra Properties represented Siena Town Center in its five-year lease of 1,200 square feet at the northeast corner of Tropicana Avenue and Hualapai Way to Desert Nails for $172,015.

-- Austin Bikle represented Rebane Family Trust in its sale of 20 acres at the southeast corner of Tropicana Avenue and Broadbent Boulevard to Beazer Homes for $2.5 million.

-- Grubb & Ellis' Michael Kammerling represented Ranch Mall in three separate lease transactions at the Galleria at Sunset mall at Sunset Road and Marks Street: 10,018 square feet for five years to Scherer Jardin, represented by David Talbot of Dyson & Dyson Real Estate, for $1.25 million; 14,100 square feet for 15 years to Galleria Pavilion Feet, represented by Matt Bear of Colliers International, for $5.2 million; and 5,800 square feet for 10 years to Buffalo Wild Wings, represented by Nelson Tressler, for $2 million.

-- Andrew S. Levy of Coldwell Banker Commercial represented John C. Gomes in his sale of 1.99 acres at the northwest corner of Lindell Road and Rush Avenue to Vegas Equities, represented by Vincent Schettler of Focus Commercial, for $325,000.

-- Colliers International's Scott Gragson, John Kilpatrick and Robert Torres represented Marnell Corrao in the sale of 5.06 acres at the southeast corner of Wagon Trail Avenue and Cimarron Road to Baruffi et al. for $1.2 million. In another transaction, Taber Thill represented the American Players Club in its 40-month lease of 2,232 square feet at 3841 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 205, from Charleston Valley View, represented by Jerry Hagfeldt of the MDL Group, for $146,326. Spencer Pinter represented Spencer Helm L.L.C. in its 60-month lease of 10,920 square feet at 6672 Spencer St., Suite 1000, to the Nevada Cheer Gym, represented by Rosy Chimenti of Realty Executives, for $369,696. Paul Hoyt, Pat Marsh and Sara Lenn represented Edgebuilding Services in its 60-month lease of 8,953 square feet at 4444 W. Russell Road, Suites B and C, from the RMS Limited Partnership, represented by Lori Garrasi-Kesar of Monarch Realty 2000, for $345,330. Dan Doherty, Brian Pankratz and Jennifer Kilpatrick represented Harsch Investment Properties in its 36-month lease of 11,526 square feet at 76 Spectrum Blvd. to Inomati for $204,478. Doherty, Pankratz and Kilpatrick represented Black Bongo Limited Partnership in its 38-month lease of 48,239 square feet at 7650 Industrial Road to RateOne Home Loans, represented by Chuck Witters of Lee and Associates, for $915,500.
