Serena fulfills needs of developer's employee

     Marcelle and Justin Adams recently bought their first home at Coventry Homes' Serena neighborhood in North Las Vegas.
      Marcelle Adams, an employee of Del Webb Corp., which includes Coventry Homes, said one of the main reasons for choosing the neighborhood was her firsthand knowledge of the company's workmanship.
      "I felt more comfortable buying a Del Webb home than one from any other builder because I'm comfortable with their quality," Adams said. "I also really like the floor plan of the house we bought. We probably looked at 50 sets of model homes from all different builders. Our model at Serena, the San Miguel, makes the most use of the square footage. Plus it's spacious and open."
      The San Miguel is a single-story, 1,777-square-foot home with three bedrooms, two baths, a great room and two-car garage. A den and three-car tandem garage are optional.
      "I love the kitchen," Adams said. "It's huge and there is a ton of cabinet space. Almost everything in the San Miguel model was standard. Things like cabinets in the hallway and (cultured-marble surfaces) in the bathrooms were standard at Serena, but upgrades at other communities."
      The neighborhood offers four floor plans ranging from 1,629 to 2,802 square feet. Prices start from the mid-$120,000s to the mid-$160,000s.
      Homes include ceramic-tile counter tops in the kitchen, cultured-marble counter tops in baths, and pantries.
      Owner suites include walk-in closets and separate tubs and showers with cultured-marble surrounds.
      To visit, take Craig Road to Clayton Street, go north to Lone Mountain Road, head west to Tierra de Palmas Drive and follow the signs.
      Model homes are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Friday, when they open at 10 a.m.
