     n Innovative Resort Communities' PortaCielo development at Lake Las Vegas has been recognized by Unique Homes magazine as a "Development of Distinction." It will be honored in the October/November issue of the magazine.
      n Southern Highlands Golf Club has appointed Jay Davis to the post of director of golf. Davis was head professional at Arnold Palmer's Adios Golf Club in Florida. He earlier served as head professional at the Kansas City Country Club in Kansas, teaching professional at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado, and assistant professional at the Grand Cypress and Bay Hill golf clubs in Florida.
      n Lee & Associates has appointed Dave Knapper to the post of general manager. Knapper was formerly a senior vice president and joined the firm in 1993. Earlier, he managed commercial brokerage operations for C.W. Clark, Grubb and Ellis, and Bishop Hawk.
      n Las Vegas First Realty's Jean Savera has been awarded the Certified Residential Specialist designation by the National Association of Realtors' Certified Residential Specialist Council, and the Accredited Buyer's Representative designation by the association's Accredited Buyer's Representative Council.
      n Lee & Associates' Charles W. Witters has been re-elected to the board of directors of the Las Vegas chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
      n Hendricks & Partners' Carl Sims and Brian Anderson negotiated the sale of the 192-unit Casa Royale Apartments, 939-969 E. Flamingo Road, by Hub City Construction, Palm Desert, Calif., to MSI Group Co., Las Vegas, for $6.875 million.
      n GVA Industrial Property Group's Dean Willmore and Art Farmanali represented LeLand G. Purdy in the sale of a 3,000-square-foot building at 4625 W. Flamingo Road to R&S Printing for $370,000. In another transaction, Farmanali and Joe Feno represented both parties in the two-year lease of 1,050 square feet at 5360 S. Cameron St. by Desert Roofing from Geoff Gomes for $20,706.
      n The MDL Group's Tim Behrendt represented Biotronics in the one-year lease of 2,486 square feet at 4650 S. Arville St. to 3DCityGuide.com for $22,839.
      n Realty Executives' Soozi Jones Walker represented Mountain Point West in the five-year lease of 2,000 square feet at 5808 W. Spring Mountain Road to Lason Systems for $151,200.
      n Sweetland Industrial Realty's John and Paul Sweetland negotiated the sale of a 4,550-square-foot building at 3824 Civic Center Drive to Robert Lockwood by Weiten Development for $342,000.
      n CB Richard Ellis' Spencer Baliff and Jeff Swinger represented JI Kislak in the purchase of the 352-unit Safari Apartments at 2675 S. Nellis Blvd. from L&B Realty Advisors for $14.5 million. Also, Randy Broadhead and Brad Peterson represented Summergate Inc. in the five-year lease of 14,204 square feet at 7674 W. Lake Mead Blvd. to New Horizons Computer Learning Center for $1.4 million. Also, Paul Hoyt and Kevin Higgins negotiated the purchase of 2.5 acres on Sunset Road west of Decatur Boulevard by Vista Holdings Co. from Alan Arnold for $540,000.
      n NAI Americana Commercial's Nancy Beyer and Ric Rushton represented Security Finance in the five-year lease of 1,500 square feet at 520 E. Lake Mead Drive from Gordon Partners for $86,000. Lee & Associates' James Hommel represented Gordon Partners. In another transaction, Janet Goldstein and Kathy Campbell represented The Venetian Hotel in the five-year lease of 1,950 square feet at 3990 Paradise Road from Glenborough Trust for $217,424. CB Richard Ellis' Lisa Gonzales represented Glenborough Trust. Also, Kevin Jacobson represented the George Marcus Fishman Estate in the sale of 2.5 acres at the northwest corner of Mohawk Street and Sobb Avenue to Managed Income Inc. for $150,000.
      n Lee & Associates' Shawn Barashy and Dave Knapper represented Reference Street Associates Co. in the five-year lease of 10,720 square feet at 5550 Reference St. to Wynlectric for $390,886. In another transaction, Mel Koich and Steve Spelman represented Pacific Industrial Co. in the three-year lease of 22,010 square feet at Gallagher Crest Road to Printco for $270,000. Also, Koich and Spelman represented both parties in the 31-month lease of 14,014 square feet at 5625 S. Arville St. by RMS Partnership to Magtech for $208,333. Also, Koich and Carla Pettigrew represented Fast Plumbing Services in the 10-year lease of 5,067 square feet at Speedway Boulevard from Las Vegas Motor Speedway Research and Development Park for $192,590.

In another transaction, Anderson negotiated the three-year lease of 1,550 square feet at 3111 S. Valley View Blvd. to Teresa's Italian Deli for $41,040. In another transaction, Margie W. Campobasso negotiated the one-year lease of 2,000 square feet at 4050 Spring Mountain Road to Cloth Connection for $18,240. Also, Campobasso negotiated the three-year lease of 2,000 square feet at 3853 Spring Mountain Road for $83,472.
      n Coldwell Banker Commercial-ETN represented Arctic Desert Inc., in the sale of a 4-unit apartment property at 811 Avenue A, in Boulder City, to John Bullis and Lettie Zimmerman for $520,000.
