Model homes open at Sunrise Colony's Siena

     Sunrise Colony Co. will host a grand opening Saturday and next Sunday for its model homes at Siena, an age-restricted community in Summerlin.
      The event at the guard-gated country club will include a drawing for a trip for two to Italy, refreshments and other contests.
      The community has already accepted more than 80 reservations for new homes.
      All of the homes are single-story and one-third will be built adjacent to the community's golf course. Models range from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet.
      Early-phase prices start in the mid-$140,000s. Winter move-ins are available in phase one.
      Buyers can select from five home designs and 14 floor plans.
      A village community center will feature a ballroom complex with a theater stage, catering kitchen, and lobbies that will seat more than 300 people. The center will also have arts and crafts facilities, meeting rooms, a library, business center, computer lab, billiards and card rooms.
      A 15,900-square-foot fitness center will house a wellness center for diagnostic purposes, exercise equipment, an indoor swimming pool, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms and locker rooms.
      The 9,700-square-foot golf club will feature a pro shop, driving range, and a dining patio overlooking a lake as well as the golf course. The first nine holes of the golf course will open in early 2000; the second are scheduled to debut in June 2000.
      Other recreational amenities will include outdoor swimming pools, lighted tennis courts, boccie courts and trail systems.
      To visit, take Sahara Avenue to Town Center Drive and follow the signs. The sale office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
      The builder is also developing Red Rock Country Club, a 738-acre country club in Summerlin.
