New Year's Eve activities planned for Lake Las Vegas Resort residents
Preparations for New Year's Eve are under way at the SouthShore Yacht & Beach Club. The staff is decorating the club with a Mediterranean Renaissance theme, according to Lisa Hungate, membership director.
"We are going all out to reflect the ambiance and style of the Renaissance era, and plan to illuminate the club with soft candlelight and drape it with banners and beautiful ribbons and swaths of rich colors," Hungate said.
Members and guests will start their evening at the club and then sail to the northern shore on a yacht to dine and ring in the new year at the La Chandele restaurant at Reflection Bay Golf & Beach Club.
A dinner will be served at 9 p.m. followed by dancing to the sounds of The Smith Brothers. Masks, party favors and commemorative glasses of champagne will be handed out as midnight approaches.
At the Hyatt Regency at Lake Las Vegas Resort, entertainment will begin at 9:30 p.m. with comedian Frank Miles. Recording artist Christopher Cross will perform at 10:30 p.m. Tickets for the festivities are still available.
