New-home buyers choose Rolladens
Howard and Charlotte Goodman have had Rolladen Rolling Shutters on their last three homes and added the window coverings to their new 2,100-square-foot, single-story home.
According to the Goodmans, the shutters save on energy consumption -- as much as 64 percent on power bills. Other benefits include a deterrence to crime and a reduction of dust entering the home.
"We live where there is going to be construction for a long time," Charlotte Goodman said. "We keep our shutters closed to keep the dust outside, rather than inside. I wouldn't be without them. Our shutters are fabulous. Neighbors comment and we tell them how much they help keep the house cool and the dust out."
The Goodmans first saw the shutters in Israel in the 1970s. A franchise has operated in Las Vegas since 1984.
"We had a security system in Florida and we never used it," Goodman said. "They're certainly not as effective as the shutters. Burglars don't even try to get through the shutters."
The roll-formed, foam-filled aluminum shutters are available in 11 colors. They include a three-year warranty on parts and a year on labor.
The company showroom is located at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd.
The showroom is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
