Views, location attract buyers to The Estates at Southern Highlands

By combining custom-home sites with mountain and city views, The Estates at Southern Highlands in the southwestern valley has created a formula for success in the Las Vegas real estate market, according to the developer.

In July, The Estates released 54 home sites, and sales agents have already sold 50 of them.

The Estates recently released 11 three-quarter-acre lots in Olympia Hills, an enclave of custom-home sites, and plans to release additional home sites in early 2001.

Mitch McClellan, director of sales, attributes the sales results to a demand for home sites with beautiful views and an attractive location.

"Home buyers at The Estates are receptive to the prestigious reputation of our community," McClellan said. "With breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, the city lights and the golf course, our custom-home sites are unmatched in the Las Vegas Valley."

Built into the foothills, the guard-gated neighborhood offers home sites ranging from half an acre to 2 acres. They are priced from the $300,000s to more than $1 million. The home sites, surrounded by the tree-lined fairways of Southern Highlands Golf Club, are grouped in planned neighborhoods.

Once approved, homeowners become members of the club's sports and fitness complex. As social members, they will have access to swimming pools, toddler pools, lighted tennis courts and spa facilities.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to Lake Mead Drive and exit west.

The sales center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
