Summerlin offers custom-home living

Already home to more than 800 families living in seven custom-home neighborhoods, the master-planned community of Summerlin has been a popular address for several reasons, according to Dan Van Epp, president of The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of the community.

"Summerlin's higher elevation and proximity to the Spring Mountain range and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, as well as its many golf courses, make the community an ideal custom-home environment," Van Epp said.

Six of the community's custom neighborhoods are complete. They are: Tournament Hills, Eagle Hills, Desert Trails, Mountain Trails, Canyon Crest and Canyon Fairways. The newest custom neighborhood, Willow Falls, offers lots measuring from one-third acre as well as predesigned custom homes.

Located south of Charleston Boulevard, Willow Falls and three neighborhoods comprise the mini-village of Willow Creek. Graced by a guard-gated waterfall entrance, Willow Creek features tennis courts, a basketball court, playground, and linear park.

"Although part of the larger Summerlin community, Willow Creek lives and feels like its own luxury community," Van Epp said. "The mixture of exclusive custom homes with other upscale neighborhoods creates a highly attractive living environment ..."

About one-half of Willow Falls' 80 custom lots are sold, according to Van Epp. Lots are priced from $125,000.

Two completed custom homes built by Goolsby Smith Isenmann are available in the neighborhood. One home, priced at $674,900, features 3,280 square feet on a single floor, a detached casita, and courtyard with a hot tub and fireplace. The second home is priced at $649,900 and features 3,180 square feet on a single floor and a gated courtyard with fireplace.

Another completed custom home is available near the TPC at The Canyons golf course. Priced at $849,000, the home features 4,300 square feet and marble and stone throughout.

In addition, two completed custom homes are available in Canyon Crest, a neighborhood in The Canyons village. The first home, priced at $449,900, measures 2,806 square feet; the second home is priced at $849,000 and offers 4,450 square feet.

"With access to many of the valley's top golf courses, including Nevada's only two Tournament Players Club facilities, an abundance of parks, miles of trails, and conveniences like shopping, medical services and cultural facilities, Summerlin consistently delivers the quality lifestyle custom-home buyers are seeking," Van Epp said.

To visit the Summerlin Home Finding Center, take Sahara Avenue to Blue Willow Lane, west of Hualapai Way, and turn south.

The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
