Residents busy at Sun City Anthem
Mike and Linda Garrison moved to Del Webb Corp.'s Sun City Anthem with the knowledge that they had found the right home and the right community, which is located in the foothills of Henderson's Black Mountain. "When we saw the Concord model, we just looked at each other and said, `This is it.' We had been looking for two years," said Mike Garrison, a retired executive in the pharmaceutical industry and the first resident to serve on the community association's board of directors. Garrison runs 30 to 50 miles a week, taking advantage of the indoor tracks and treadmills at Anthem Center. He also plays golf regularly at The Revere. "It's great. The views are awesome and the course is extremely well-maintained. The Revere is for the most skilled players to novice players thanks to its unique design," he said. Linda Garrison operates a computer and health care consulting company, and is a member of the quilting and sewing club at Anthem Center. She also takes water aerobics classes, uses the treadmills and plans to take advantage of the fitness tests given at the wellness center. "We were so excited to see all the services and activities offered at Anthem Center," she said. "We really like the community atmosphere. We have met so many people with similar interests who have become good friends." Sun City Anthem's 15 floor plans range from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through its Gold Key program. Prices start from the high $120,000s to more than $500,000. The community is located on Eastern Avenue, about two miles south of St. Rose Parkway. The sales office and models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
