Del Webb Corp. in spotlight

Del Webb Corp. has been named "Builder of the Year" by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. The honor was bestowed during the association's annual installation dinner-dance held this month at The Mirage.

"The recognition is quite an honor, and we're certainly proud of the professional business partnership we've formed with local Realtors," Steve O'Connor, vice president of sales and marketing for the developer, said. "We look forward to continuing to build and maintain positive relationships with the outstanding Realtors in the Las Vegas Valley."

Irene Vogel, executive vice president of the association, said Del Webb Corp. justly deserves the recognition.

"The honor is not only for a builder that delivers quality work and has a tremendous presence in the Las Vegas market, but it is for a builder consistently meeting the needs of the valley's Realtors," she said.

Del Webb was also honored recently with five Homer Awards presented by the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association. Included was an award for "Home of the Year" in recognition of the developer's 3,009-square-foot Anthem model at Anthem Country Club in Henderson.

The country club is located within the 5,000-acre Anthem master-planned community, which is also home to Coventry Homes at Anthem and the age-qualified Sun City Anthem, which features a 75,000-square-foot community center and The Revere golf club. Sun City Anthem's first driving range is slated to open in December, while a second golf course is under construction and scheduled to open in late next year.

Richmond American Homes is also building within Anthem.
