Evalyn and Bill Palacio bought a home for their children at Avellino, a new neighborhood within Rhodes Homes' Tuscany Residential Village in Henderson.

"Two of our children are close to graduating from college, and we think that there's tremendous opportunity for them to live a good life here in Las Vegas," Evalyn Palacio said. "My husband and I believe that Avellino at Tuscany is in a great area."

The development's location proved to be a factor in their buying decision, as did the home's design.

"From the first minute you walk into a model at Avellino, you can see the details in these homes that lets you know what you are buying is something built not only to look good, but also to last a long time," Bob Palacio said.

The Palacio also noted the recreational amenities, including the soon-to-be-built 30,000-square-foot community center.

"It's nice to find a nice community that's built around a golf course," Evalyn Palacio said. "With the recreation center that's planned, and the outdoor activities available, we know that our children will have many alternatives for staying active."

The neighborhood offers eight floor plans, ranging from 2,573 to 4,392 square feet with three to five bedrooms and two to 4 1/2 baths.

To visit, take Lake Mead Drive east, past Boulder Highway, to Mohawk Drive and turn left. The model homes are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
