Club membership, view lots highlight Southern Highlands
Large custom-home sites, mountain and city views, and a nationally ranked championship golf club are the formula for the community at The Estates at Southern Highlands Golf Club, according to Mitch McClellan, director of sales. "It was just over one year ago that we opened for sales and The Estates has sold, in terms of dollar value, more than any other master-planned development in the history of the Las Vegas Valley," McClellan said. "Our first three neighborhoods have sold more than 90 percent of the available lots. However, a few special lots remain prior to neighborhood closeout." A half-acre custom-home lot neighborhood called Vintage Valley recently opened. Located in the foothills of the southwestern valley, the guard-gated community offers custom-home sites measuring from one-half acre to 2 acres. Homes are priced from the $300,000s to more than $1 million. The community is landscaped with pine trees, and flowering plum, pear and other shade trees. "Home buyers at The Estates are receptive to the prestigious reputation of our community," McClellan said. Residents may become members of the golf club, which includes amenities such as a fitness center and concierge services. Hiking and biking trails wind through the community and lead to nearby mountains. There are plans for a village center. The sales center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To visit, take Interstate 15 to Lake Mead Drive then go west to the gate.
