Air Force veteran chooses Vistana
Leo Valladares had an opportunity to see much of Europe when he served the nation for 10 years in the U.S. Air Force. The San Francisco Bay area native finally settled down in the Vistana at Rhodes Ranch condominium complex in the southwestern valley. "The bottom line in my selection was all about location," Valladares said. "Vistana is a friendly neighborhood and the best location in town for the price. I love how it is really close to Interstate 215 and near a brand new high school, Sierra Vista, for my son." When he toured the Monaco model at the Rhodes Homes development, he knew that his home search was over. "It just looked right," he said. "I like how there is one bedroom on one side and one on the other." Valladares took advantage of the opportunity to buy a condo with $1,000 down. He and his son, Pancho, look forward to moving in this month. "In the end, buying a home at Vistana was pretty comparable to paying rent. With interest rates as low as they are and the tax benefits from owning my own home, it was definitely time to quit paying rent," he said. Buyers can choose from nine single- and two-story floor plans, measuring from 670 to 1,200 square feet. Prices start from the mid-$70,000s to the $120,000s. Each home includes an appliance package and window coverings. Community amenities include three planned pools, a two-story fitness center and a spa. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive, then go south to Warm Springs Road and follow the signs. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
