Summerlin discloses results of satisfaction survey

The Howard Hughes Corp. disclosed the results of its second Summerlin "census," a survey mailed out to residents to gauge customer satisfaction within the master-planned community.

According to Robert Charles Lesser & Co., 97 percent of respondents indicated they would recommend the community to a friend, 93 percent are satisfied with the recreational activities and would consider choosing another home in the community, 92 percent would recommend their neighborhood to a friend, and 90 percent are satisfied with their neighborhood amenities.

The survey was mailed out to 7,527 residents. A total of 2,073 were returned for a 27.5 response rate.

"Particularly since residents were not given any incentive to respond, we were very impressed with the high response," Gadi Kaufmann, managing director and CEO of Robert Charles Lesser & Co., said. "It speaks very well for Summerlin."

The results also revealed that 41 percent of the residents moved to the community because it was a master-planned environment, while 30 percent cited the community's reputation.

Seventy-one percent of respondents cited the trails as their most frequently used amenity.

"By continually growing and adding new amenities and products that appeal to a wider audience, Summerlin's reputation as a community with something for everyone has grown as well," Kaufmann said.

Other amenities include two Tournament Players Club golf courses, Bear's Best Las Vegas, and five other courses; 16 public and private schools; houses of worship; cultural facilities; shopping and medical centers; and business parks.

Summerlin aligns the western edge of the valley, and has ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community for eight of the past nine years. It is comprised of villages, each with a major park or golf course.

Single-family homes, townhomes and condos are priced from under $100,000 to more than $700,000. Custom lots measuring from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $1 million, and predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to several million dollars.

To visit the community's home finding center, take Sahara Avenue west, past Hualapai Way to Town Center Drive. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara.

The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
