Singer Holmes headlines Sun City Anthem party

Sun City Anthem recently celebrated its third birthday Saturday with a full day of festivities for residents. The age-qualified community by Del Webb held an all-day party for about 800 people with an appearance by local celebrity Clint Holmes, food, games and prizes. Music was provided by a local broadcast and a jazz band that performed all day.

"It was a fabulous time," buyer Jean Clarke of Henderson said. "My husband Bob and I were in the area checking on the progress of our Del Webb home under construction when we chanced upon this wonderful party."

The Clarkes selected the Jefferson, one of 17 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet. More are available through the community's Gold Key program.

Homes are priced from the high $130,000s to more than $500,000.

At buildout, the community is expected to have about 10,000 homes and three championship golf courses. One of the featured attractions is the Anthem Center, a 75,000-square-foot recreational and social facility. It offers fitness and other opportunities for residents, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, about two miles past St. Rose Parkway. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
