Clubhouse opens at The RevereSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
The clubhouse at The Revere at Anthem Golf Club has opened to visitors and residents of the master-planned community in Henderson. Open less than a month, the 23,000-square-foot facility is situated on 8 acres. Clubhouse amenities include a pro shop, banquet facilities, casual dining and a below-ground golf cart storage area. "The Revere clubhouse is designed to be the golfer's home away from home," Clay Meininger, director of golf, said. "You can come in and watch a game on one of the many televisions in the sports bar or dine with friends at Buckman's Tavern." Executive Chef Michael Perkins oversees the restaurant, which is open for breakfast from 6:30 to 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to food and beverage director Ellen Marconi. "We've mastered the traditional clubhouse favorites along with other delicious offerings that are certain to become the signature dishes of the restaurant," Marconi said. The clubhouse is available for special events such as weddings, receptions or business meetings that may include a golf package. With a capacity of 180 people, the three banquet rooms can be combined to form one large room with floor-to-ceiling windows providing views of the Las Vegas Valley as well as the patio and lawn area. Catering services are customized for each event. Three golf courses will be built around Sun City Anthem, one of three developments within Anthem. The first to open was the Lexington, an 18-hole championship course that is a par-72 and measures 7,143 yards. Construction is under way on the second course, the Concord, designed by golf course architect Greg Nash and PGA Hall-of-Famer Billy Casper. It measures 7,050 yards. "This course is a combination of parallel fairways and single fairways that meander through the canyons," Nash said. "We have also designed some very dramatic elevation changes from the tees to greens, which is a pretty dynamic view when players are hitting off the green." Nash pointed out that the course includes several challenging holes, particularly the 11th and the 18th. "Hole 11 is a very short par-5. It's a risk-reward golf hole, meaning it's a short par where you can reach the green in two, but have to hit a very exact shot to get there," he said. "The concluding hole is a dramatic downhill par-5 that drops about 100 feet from the tee to the green and is framed with 18 sand traps." A tunnel beneath Hampton Road provides easy access from the clubhouse to the 13-acre practice facility across the street. The first practice facility, The Battlefield, opened in January and can accommodate as many as 50 golfers. Special rates and tee times are available for Sun City Anthem and Clark County residents. Anthem is a nearly 5,000-acre community by Del Webb Corp. It is comprised of Sun City Anthem, a development for people age 55 and older; Anthem Country Club, a guard-gated community for people all ages; and Coventry Homes at Anthem, a traditional family neighborhood. To visit, take Eastern Avenue about two miles south of St. Rose Parkway to Anthem Parkway. The Sun City Anthem sales office is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The models at Anthem Country Club are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
