Spanish Springs' location appeals to buyer
A smile spread across Neville Christian's face as he watched workers create streets and home sites for US Home's Spanish Springs development. He was the first person to buy a home in the northwestern valley neighborhood and his house will be the first one built. "I had been looking in this area for the last 14 months, just watching and waiting for any sign of new home development. This was an area that offered exactly what I wanted ... Then I saw an article about Spanish Springs ... I called US Home immediately, but they were not scheduled to open for another week. So, I waited and the first day they opened for presales I was here reviewing the floor plans, starting the paperwork and selecting a home site," Christian said. In addition to its location, Christian, a single man, said he liked the home's one-quarter acre site and single-level design. He purchased the Brentwood Expanded model. "The Brentwood is open and spacious, yet it offers complete privacy for me and for my guests. I like the fact that my master suite is separate from the other living areas and from the guest bedrooms. When family or friends do come for a visit, they have their own part of the house and their own privacy," he said. He also cited the design's expanded master suite offering room for a home office, walk-in closet, raised tub, separate shower, dual vanities, linen storage and access to a covered patio as features that he appreciated. Other features include a foyer, formal dining and living rooms, family room, and an island kitchen. Among the options he chose are a spa tub, surround-sound system, 3-inch baseboards and molding, upgraded flooring, and river rock exterior. Six plans measuring from 2,550 to more than 4,500 square feet are available at the gated development. Three of the designs are single-story. Prices start from the $300,000s. Among the plans are the two-story San Clemente, measuring more than 4,500 square feet and offering as many as seven bedrooms; and the Coronado, measuring 4,402 square feet and offering an optional courtyard entry and two-story turreted foyer. Standard features include granite counter tops, ceramic-tile flooring at entry, cultured-marble vanities, upgraded appliances and oak cabinetry. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Craig Road, go west to Durango Drive and go north. Turn left on Lone Mountain Road and proceed to Fort Apache Road. The sales office is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
