Anthem celebrates fourth anniversary

Anthem, Del Webb Corp.'s master-planned community in Henderson, marked its four-year anniversary last weekend with a celebration highlighted by entertainment and tours of the 19 model homes offered at Sun City Anthem.

Homes in the age-qualified community in Henderson range from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet, and are priced from the high $140,000s to more than $500,000.

"Anthem has had tremendous success," said Jim Bond, sales manager.

Del Webb is planning to add two new developments in Anthem: Solera, an age-qualified community, and Anthem Highlands, which will be open to all ages.

Enhancements to the community over the past four years included parks, golf courses, stores, restaurants and a fire station.

The builder donated land and funding for Anthem Fire Station No. 99, which is a part of Henderson's Fire Department.

The $30-million Anthem Center, which opened in 2000 in Sun City, is one of the builder's largest recreational facilities. At 77,363 square feet, it offers fitness, social and recreational opportunities for residents, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public.

Future plans include a medical office building and 55-acre park, scheduled for completion by April.

The builder also developed Sun City Summerlin, Sun City MacDonald Ranch, Anthem Country Club, Coventry Homes at Anthem and the Anthem master plan. The company is currently developing Aliante, a new master-planned community in North Las Vegas, with American Nevada Corp.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive. Models are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
