First American Title to move headquarters to Green ValleySPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
First American Title Company of Nevada, which has operated in Las Vegas for more than 30 years, plans to move its statewide corporate headquarters to a new 12,698-square-foot office facility at 2490 Paseo Verde Parkway in Green Valley Corporate Center South. The move is planned for early next year. The 90-acre business park, a development of American Nevada Corp., offers a mix of suburban Class A office, Class B/back office and multi-use flex space. It is located within a 160-acre site that includes Green Valley Ranch Station casino and the site for the Green Valley Ranch Town Center in Henderson. Lynn A. Donner, president and state manager of First American Title, said moving the company's state administrative, sales and escrow departments to the new location is a timely and sensible endeavor. "This location will enable us to bring our company to the next level in terms of the convenience we offer our clients and the strength of our technological capabilities," Donner said. "Technology has changed our industry dramatically in the last 10 years, and infrastructure to support that technology was a key consideration for us in choosing the Green Valley site." There were additional considerations. "We've leased properties from American Nevada Corp. in the past and we are impressed with the quality of their commercial properties along the I-215 corridor," she said. "We wanted a location on the southern edge of the valley because it is the predominant area of growth right now. This location is perfect as I-215 will provide an easier commute for our clients and employees alike. We will be close to the airport and within minutes of access to all of the major freeways. "Also, the hub for real estate companies has shifted from the East Desert Inn Road/Flamingo/Tropicana corridors to the southeast valley, which is now `huge,' in terms of the number of real estate offices. Most of our realty, home builder and developer clients have already established positions in this area, so it made perfect sense for us to move in this direction as well." Richard Lee, director of public relations for the company in Nevada, agreed. "From a technology standpoint, our new headquarters will give us everything we need for current and anticipated growth of our company," Lee said. "What has happened in Las Vegas over the last 10 years has not been duplicated by any other city in recorded history. This 10-year phenomenon has launched Las Vegas into the 21st century like a rocket and, appropriately, technology will continue to play a major role in the productivity of a company like ours. Our new Green Valley facility is designed with the fiber-optic, telecommunications and data capabilities we will need to sustain our current level of production and to introduce new products and services as they come online." As an example, Lee cited the FAST Transaction System, which is linked with First American's FAST suite of e-commerce products, that provides automated title searches and other services. "To support a system like this, you need state-of-the-art infrastructure," Lee said. "In this new facility, the infrastructure is in place and it has the capability to expand with our needs." Donner said in addition to moving the company's state headquarters, First American Title also plans to open three more branch offices throughout the valley over the next six months, and plans a fourth in the Aliante master plan. "We believe the future of our business is smaller offices and more of them -- as opposed to the large corporate and production facilities of the past," she said. "Our industry no longer requires having large groups of employees under one roof. There's not much need to physically move paper anymore." First American Title has a 50-year history in the state of providing escrow and title insurance services. It has 25 offices statewide, and is the largest firm in Clark County, based on individual recording documents per annum. The parent company, The First American Corp., offers business information and related products and services. It has more than 22,500 employees in 1,300 offices worldwide. Services include title and specialty insurance; trusts; and mortgage, property, credit and screening information.
