Red Rock memberships serve variety of interestsSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Red Rock Country Club offers a variety of ways for members and residents to enjoy all the community's many amenities. Terry Parr, the country club's new membership director, said four types of memberships are available. "Depending on the amenities they are looking to use, by offering a variety of membership options, we have the ability to meet the needs of current and potential members in a more customized manner than most private clubs," Parr said. There are three subcategories of golf membership: residential and invitational, invitational business, and invitational executive. "The business memberships allow a company to enroll multiple executives into the club at reduced rates. And, we designed these memberships to be flexible so a company could sign all its executives up at once, or one at a time," Parr said. Use of the golf course, practice facility, clubhouse, sports club, tennis complex and aquatic center are included in all golf memberships. Nongolf plans include sports memberships. The residential and invitational sports membership allows use of the tennis facility, one of the finest in Southern Nevada, according to Jeff Foley, tennis director. "In my opinion, our tennis program is the best in the city. We have a wide variety of leagues and clinics that are heavily participated in by both adults and children members," Foley said. Sports members have access to the sports club, tennis complex, aquatic center and main clubhouse. The residential and invitational social and swim memberships include access to the aquatic center and clubhouse. "In addition to the beautiful facilities, Red Rock Country Club always has a full calendar of social events so that members have the opportunity to socialize with one another," Parr said. Thomas Gilbertson, general manager of the club, said about 30 percent of members are nonresidents. "Our demographics are split into members with young families and members who are empty-nesters. With nearly 800 children all under the age of 18, the club is very family-oriented, especially the sports club that features the splash 'n spray water park, a playground and a tot stop where children are supervised and entertained while their parents work out, play tennis or have a `date night' in the dining room. The aquatic center is an excellent example of how we accommodate both groups as we have a family pool and an adults-only pool," Gilbertson said. A 44,000-square-foot clubhouse features fine and casual dining options with indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a private room for special occasions and a meeting room able to support modern communication technologies for business purposes. Other amenities include a pro shop and locker rooms, each with a steam room, lounge and media center. Adjacent to the clubhouse is the sports club with exercise equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, massage therapy rooms and locker rooms. It overlooks the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The tennis facility offers nine lighted, hard-surface courts, including a stadium court that hosts professional tennis exhibitions and amateur tournaments. The community will feature two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer, one of which is open. A practice facility features a double-ended driving range, putting green and chipping areas. Situated in Summerlin, the guard-gated community will consist of 1,116 homes upon completion. The one- and two-story designs offer as many as six bedrooms and garages for four cars and range from 2,100 to 5,300 square feet. Prices start from the $350,000s to more than $2 million. A professional design staff is available to assist home buyers with upgrades, options and custom features. There is also a program for buyers to order structural changes; room reconfigurations or additions; custom swimming pools; and upgraded landscaping, patio and lighting designs. Custom-home sites, ranging from 15,000 to 20,000 square feet, are for sale in The Estates, a gated enclave of 86 lots within the country club. Prices range from $315,000 to $500,000. To visit, take Sahara Avenue west, past Town Center Drive and follow the signs. The community can also be reached by taking Interstate 215 to Sahara. The sales center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing Siena, an age-qualified community in Summerlin.
