Anniversary bash held at Anthem

Del Webb Corp. reported more than 1,500 visitors at its recent fifth anniversary celebration for the Anthem master-planned community.

Entertainment, refreshments and a watercolor art show were among the offerings at the two-day event held within the Henderson development.

"We really enjoyed touring the homes at Anthem Country Club," said Richard Sweet, who joined in the festivities. "My wife, Shelia, and I are residents at Sun City Anthem. We read about Anthem's fifth birthday party ... and decided to check it out. It's always fun to see the beautifully decorated models."

About 30 homes and home sites remain at the country club with 10 homes available before the end of the year.

"In addition to the inventory homes, we have only two model village homes still available for purchase," senior sales manager Jeb Koury said. "These models are sold with all furnishings, upgraded appliances, window coverings and any pools, spas or water features."

Inventory homes start from the high $400,000s. The model homes are priced from $900,000 to $1.6 million.

The guard-gated community offers a members-only restaurant, as well as an athletic club with fitness equipment, tennis courts, an aerobics studio, and basketball and volleyball facilities. Other amenities include swimming pools, a spa and salon.

A 7,300-yard, par-72 golf course is central to the community. Equity golf membership is available to homeowners.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway and follow the signs. The sales office and design center are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
