Anthem provides sense of security

Joyce Palmer feels an age-qualified community offers a great sense of security and comfort.

"Living in Sun City Anthem is like being a member of a private club. It's safer for a single woman like myself," she said.

A former model from Newport Beach, Calif., Palmer purchased two homes in the Henderson community, one as her home and the other as an investment.

"Del Webb does everything first class. I also worked in real estate for a number of years, and this was a great buy," she said.

Palmer purchased a Hamilton and a Concord model.

She lives in the Concord home, which she said offers views of the Strip. The floor plan, part the Estate series, features dual master suites, a great room, den, three-car garage, built-in wet bar and covered patio. It measures 2,510 square feet.

Palmer said she enjoys the convenience of Anthem Center, where she takes yoga classes and uses the health club.

The 77,363-square-foot center offers fitness, social and recreational opportunities for residents, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public.

"Trumpets has great service, a wonderful view, and people are so friendly there. It's so different from other restaurants because at Trumpets, people know you as a resident. It's great to drive just two minutes to a good restaurant and be with people who have common interests," she said.

Palmer also enjoys playing golf. The Revere at Anthem offers two 18-hole championship golf courses: the Lexington, and the Concord.

The community offers 19 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet.

Homes are priced from the mid-$140,000s to more than $500,000.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive. Models are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
