Natives find `perfect' life at Sun City Aliante

For Becky and Darrell Weible, Las Vegas has always been home. The couple met while students at Clark High School and have been married for 31 years. After years of careers, children and grandchildren, the Weibles are buying a home that is just for them.

"We've raised four children and wanted to live in a community that is a little quieter," Darrell Weible said. "Sun City Aliante is perfect because it's an adult-oriented community and it has great amenities."

The Weibles said they found the serenity they wanted at the North Las Vegas development.

"We got everything we could want. The home prices are reasonable, yet you get the benefit of a country club-type golf community," he said.

They look forward to activities they never had time for in the past.

"I haven't played golf in 20 years and am really looking forward to getting back into it. Becky likes to play bingo, so we're hoping there will be a group she can join," Darrell Weible said.

They also are looking forward to using the planned recreational facility and pool.

"There are just a lot of opportunities for physical activity, as well as leisure activity. From tennis to quilting, if you want to do something, you can. If you don't, you don't. It's a great variety of options," he said.

They purchased a Primrose model. The 1,424-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two baths and a great room with a dining area.

Sun City Aliante, the age-qualified component of the Aliante master-planned community, is being built around an 18-hole municipal golf course. Amenities will include a recreation center with tennis and bocce courts, a swimming pool, fitness center, and club and hobby rooms.

Prices start from the $190,000s to the high $270,000s.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go north. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
