Pardee to lead off at Mountain's EdgeSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
The first neighborhood to open at Mountain's Edge will be Pardee Homes' Montelano, which has a scheduled grand opening in mid-December. "We're sort of like pioneers, because our models will be the first homes built in Mountain's Edge," said Ray Landry, assistant vice president of sales. "Montelano will feature terrific family homes in a brand-new, family-oriented community in a setting that celebrates the nature and history of Las Vegas." The master-planned community is located in the southwestern valley. More than 500 acres of land have been designated open space, and include Exploration Peak, a restored natural mountain park. In addition to bicycle and walking trails, Exploration Park will feature picnic areas, replicas of a western town, a Native American village, and an archaeological dig site. Montelano, located near the southwest corner of Buffalo Drive and Blue Diamond Road, will offer one- and two-story homes with as many as seven bedrooms. "Customer priorities were built into these homes, including energy efficiencies, greater flexibility, and large family rooms and bonus rooms," Landry said. All residences will be Energy Star certified at Montelano, which will be Pardee's newest LivingSmart neighborhood. "Montelano will offer the first roof integrated solar system in our Las Vegas LivingSmart program," marketing director Kathy Hilty said. "Families who choose that option, along with radiant barrier roof and fluorescent lighting, could realize up to 50 percent energy savings." Four floor plans, and several variations, will be available. Plan One is a single-story design that measures 2,027 square feet with two to four bedrooms, two or three baths and a great room.
