Lake Las Vegas features golf lifestyle

Some golfers may dream of living on the fairways of their favorite course; it is a reality for resident golfers at Lake Las Vegas Resort. Homes at the 2,600-acre golf and resort destination in Henderson are designed around the community's golf courses and a 320-acre lake with 10 miles of shoreline.

Among the residential offerings is the SouthShore Golf Villas, which offers views of the lake, courses, city and mountains. The 20 attached villas, built by Lake at Lake Las Vegas Joint Venture, are available furnished and include a master bedroom with a full bath, living room, powder room, island kitchen with breakfast nook, and patios.

Measuring about 950 square feet, they are priced from $341,000 to $445,000.

Villas' buyers receive membership to the SouthShore Yacht & Beach Club, located along Lake Las Vegas where members can enjoy a beach, picnic and lawn area, outdoor pool and spa, and tennis and basketball facilities.

The resort is also home to the Jack Nicklaus-designed SouthShore Golf Club. This par-71 course offers as many as five tee settings per hole and forced carries over canyons and water.

In addition, the SouthShore Golf Club offers a 28,000-square-foot clubhouse, social events and activities, pro shop, and cart and bag storage area.

Residents of the Villas also have the opportunity to play the resort's other championship courses, including the Nicklaus-designed Reflection Bay Golf Club and the new Tom Weiskopf-designed The Falls Golf Club.

"The vision was to bring together, in a single place, the world's finest golf courses, upscale residential living environments, and services and amenities, all centered around a serene lake that literally sprang from the desert," said R.F. Boeddeker, chairman and president of Transcontinental Corp., owner and developer of the resort.

Another residential offering is the Italian-style MiraBella, an enclave of villas overlooking the ninth hole of the SouthShore Golf Course and lake. The single-story designs range from 3,730 to 4,220 square feet and start from $1.5 million.

Four residential enclaves priced from the $400,000s to more than $1 million are adjacent to the Reflection Bay Golf Club on the lake's northern shore.

Bordering Reflection Bay are the 24 European-style villas of Ravello. Three floor plans are featured with three bedrooms and three or 3 1/2 baths. They are priced from $501,000.

Overlooking the 11th and 13th fairways is Sorrento, a neighborhood of 52 single- and two-story homes priced from $764,000 to more than $1 million. Three floor plans are available, offering two to four bedrooms, and 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 baths.

The Mediterranean-style Tremonto neighborhood features homes ranging from 1,908 to more than 2,823 square feet with two to four bedrooms. Prices start from $589,000.

Lake Las Vegas Resort Services offers residents assistance with such day-to-day activities as lawn, home and pool maintenance; pet care; and billing arrangements. A concierge staff is also available.
