Homers awarded to Christopher Homes

Christopher Homes was once again recognized at the Homer Awards presented by the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association.

The builder garnered seven Homers including Home of the Year for the Nechita design at The Villas, a neighborhood within the Southern Highlands Golf Club in the southwestern valley. The Nechita features two bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, study and a game room in 3,152 square feet.

This is the second consecutive year that the builder has received the Home of the Year award. Last year, its Da Vinci model at The Christopher Collection, also located in the Southern Highlands Golf Club, was recognized.

The Villas, which offers seven courtyard homes ranging from about 2,100 to 3,300 square feet and priced from the high $300,000s to the mid-$800,000s, was also honored with the following awards:

--Best Single Family Detached Home 2,400-4,500 square feet, $351,000-$425,000 for the Erte model.

--Best Single Family Detached Home, 3,000-4,600 square feet, $426,000-$475,000 for the Nechita model.

--Best Interior Merchandising, $22.01 per square foot and over for the Nechita model.

--Best Merchandising (single product) for The Villas neighborhood.

The builder's custom division was recognized for Best Advertising, and the company also received an award for Best Builder Web Site.

The majority of the homes in The Villas are situated in cul-de-sacs. Customizing options include wine cellars and courtyard fireplaces. One-story plans can be expanded to two stories, while the two-story design can be expanded to three stories. Landscaping of the front yards and open space is handled through the homeowner's association. Buyers have access to a design center.

The Southern Highlands Golf Club features a guarded entrance, roving security, concierge services, sports and fitness center, and 42,000-square-foot clubhouse. The builder provides each buyer at The Villas with a social membership to the golf club, upon application approval.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the Henderson/Lake Mead exit, head west and follow the signs. The models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
